Black Truffles are an exceptional fungus that grow 3-12 inches underground. They are harvested in the summer months by muzzled pigs or dogs and grow near the roots of trees, usually oak or chestnut, hazel, and beech. Use straight from the can to flavor sauces, omelets, polentas, risottos, pates, or meats.
