The Information Chefs Want!
Week
of October 4th, 2004. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!! Not
sure where to start. THINGS ARE TOUGH. Lets start
with tomatoes. Basically, California is the only
player in terms of volume for the next month or two. Prices
will be high for several weeks and quality will only
be fair. Cherry tomatoes and grape tomatoes have
the best and most consistent flavor. Heirlooms still
looking and tasting goooood! Strawberries are transitioning
from Salinas to Oxnard. We should have Driscol
berries in the next few days so please hang on. The
berries we have in stock are just ok. Blueberries
and blackberries are also transitioning, from the
states to South America. Blues and blacks are inconsistent
in quality, but raspberries are still nice out of
California. Oranges are higher than normal and may
remain high throughout the fall and into winter due
mostly from the hurricanes in Florida. Yellow squash
and zucchini are almost non-existent. Expect high
prices on squash for the next couple of weeks when
Georgia starts with their fall program. Try baby
sunburst and baby zucchini this week as we got a
good deal going out of Guatemala! We have a great
supply of fall squashes and other assorted fall goodies. Pumpkins,
gourds and other fall decorations now in!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS!!!!!!!! PRESHEATESHA!
